Favorite Questions & Awkward Moments!

Being a mom (especially of twins),  I've come to realize that a lot of people lack a filter, or even a brain for that matter!  Every mom knows that during her first pregnancy, you get bombarded and even caught off guard by the questions people ask you!

For all you non-moms or soon-to-be moms, you can imagine how embarrassing and offensive it is for a stranger to ask you when you're due date is when you're not even preggo! It's even worse when you are pregnant and people assume you're to deliver sometime in the next month and you're only four months along! Then you know there's no hope of having the cute little baby bump everyone hopes to have! You just have to deal with the fact that you're just going to get bigger, and bigger, and BIGGER!

One of my friends recently had the pleasure/misfortune of being misdiagnosed of having twins in her first trimester because she was measuring bigger than normal and started gaining quite a bit of weight.  Everyone was so excited for her, especially me. (Let's face it, I need a friend who has twins too! )  She loved telling everyone about being pregnant with twins and how excited/nervous she was to have them along with her 3 1/2 yr. old little girl.  Obviously, when she went in for her ultrasound to find that there has only been one baby this whole time, she was embarrassed/shocked/relieved/offended etc.  I cannot tell you how bad I felt for her!

When I was pregnant with the twins, I was HUGE!
I was sitting down, waiting for the doctor, when this little boy came up and pointed out that you couldn't see my knees past my belly.  REALLY? Who says that? Better yet, who let's their kid say that? I totally ignored the kid and TRIED to brush it off.  But, of course, as soon as I got home, what did I do? Made sure that I could still see my knees but to no avail! I cannot tell you how long I held a grudge against this random little boy.  I mean I was pregnant, not deaf.  I still had feelings!

Another instance occurred right after I had had the twins and my husband and I were shopping and had our little dolls, LouWho and Button, all bundled up in nothing but PINK, yet people kept coming up to us and asking us if they were a boy/girl set of twins! For some reason it really bothered me to think that people thought that one of my little beauties looked a little masculine! (Although now I realize that people just don't take 2 seconds to think about what they're saying even though it's TOTALLY obvious!)

I also find it humorous that people like to tell me that they're quite sure my twins are identical...yeah, obviously you didn't care to look at them because although they look similar they are definitely not identical.  But thanks for your input.  If you're one of those people who think my little monsters angels are identical, take a nice long look at this picture, then get back to me :D

Please leave a comment and share with me YOUR embarrassing story of when you were pregnant or what you may have said to someone who was/wasn't pregnant!
